What is the purpose of a Detention Tank?
A detention tank works by temporarily storing stormwater runoff from your property and then slowly releasing it into the public stormwater system. By temporarily storing the water during heavy rainfall and then slowly releasing it over a period of time this reduces the chance of the public stormwater system becoming overloaded and the risk of flooding.

Why is there water coming back out of my cesspit or stormwater drains?

Detention tanks filter debris such as silt and leaves however if the tank has not been cleaned in a while, the outlet can become clogged preventing water from draining away. This is where Alpha Drain comes in, we can vacuum out the contents of the detention tank making sure the outlet is clear, enabling your tank to do its job.
